CODE OF CONDUCT

This document contains details of the Code of Conduct to which all club members are expected and required to conform whilst participating in or while associated with the programme of LEATHERHEAD SWIMMING CLUB.

1. Personal Appearance:


1.1 This shall be appropriate to the circumstances and as directed by the Head Coach or Team Manager.

1.2 Team clothing shall be worn as directed by the Head Coach or Team Manager when competing and training, when travelling or at official Club functions.

2. Attendance:


2.1 Accommodation and transport as allocated by the Head Coach or Team Manager should be used wherever possible.

2.2 Swimmers should attend all training sessions as laid out in the squad criteria, meetings or other functions as directed, unless unforeseen circumstances occur.

2.3 Punctuality on all occasions is essential and any curfew must be observed.

3. Behaviour and Personal Conduct:


3.1 Behaviour and personal conduct must at all times be of a high standard and should reflect favourably of our sport.

3.2 Language in public or relevant group situations must always be appropriate and socially acceptable.

3.3 Alcohol is totally forbidden for all swimmers under age as defined by UK law. Swimmers of legal age are only allowed to drink alcohol with the agreement of the Head Coach / Team Manager.

3.4 Smoking is prohibited by all swimmers prior to, during or following a competition event, training session or team activities or when away with the Club.

3.5 Drugs and Substances: The use of any drugs or substances other than for medical reasons is prohibited. Swimmers are reminded to check that any drugs used for medical purposes are not on the ASA 'Banned List'. (If in doubt check with the ASA Medical Officer)

3.6 Medication: It is important that full details of all medication currently being taken is provided to the Head Coach or Team Manager.

Sanctions: Breaches of the Code of Conduct shall be dealt with in the first instance by the Head Coach / Team Manager. A report of the incident will be made to the Club Secretary, and the Executive Committee will review and take such further action as deemed necessary.
